Pre University Course
The Pre-university course, popularly abbreviated to PUC, is an intermediate course (which is known as 10+2) of two years’ duration, conducted by Department of Pre-University Education. This Pre-university course is also known as the Plus-two or Intermediate course. It is a Qualifying course to get an admission into an Indian university, which can be considered as a degree bridge course to prepare students for university education.
The Pre-University Course extends over a period of Two academic years. The course of study comprises of Parts I & II.
Part I :
English and any one of the following languages:
Part II :
Any one of following combinations:
- History, Economics, Political Science, Sociology
- History, Economics, Business Studies, Accountancy
- Statistics, Economics, Business Studies, Accountancy
- Statistics, Business Studies, Accountancy & Computer Science
Medium of Instruction is English, Minimum 05 students should be there for every language class, otherwise students have to make their own arrangements to study the language privately.
A Pass in Karnataka S.S.L.C or an examination considered equivalent by the karnataka Pre-University Board is a Pre-requisite for admission to PUC. At the enrolment, students from other Board must produce a certificate of eligibility from the Pre-University Board.
